The developer has promised ‘no condos’ on this iconic corner; the commercial building is sure to be the final feather in the cap of Riverside’s gentrification. Once completed, we’ll no longer be talking about an area in transition. Riverside is already one of Toronto’s top neighbourhoods for first- and second-time buyers and these developments are going to raise the area profile even further. We advise getting in soon as prices are likely going to rise here above average over the next five to ten years.

Riverside is one of Toronto’s youngest neighbourhoods in terms of being recognized as a unique area by most Torontonians. Some of our favourite bars in the city are located here along Queen East: The Comrade, a laidback bar for sipping cocktails and catching up with friends, Prohibition Gastropub, one of the least pretentious establishments we’ve been in with “gastro” in the title, and the relative newcomer Boots & Bourbon Saloon, a fun destination for a group night out. And we can’t forget the Opera House, one of Toronto’s most popular live music halls.
