A standout neighbourhood in the last 5 years, Mimico is one of these gorgeous condo dense areas by the bay, close to the Etobicoke Yacht Club and Mimico Cruising Club. Readily accessible, Etobicoke has 4 GO train station stops; Etobicoke North on the Kitchener Line, Kipling Station on the Milton Line and Long Branch and Mimico on the Lakeshore West line. Humber College has two campuses in Etobicoke, one in the North and one in the South. A one-stop shop for all your needs is the gorgeous Sherway Garden Shopping Centre, where you can find Swarovski, J. Crew, Roots, H&M, Zara, Hudson’s Bay, Saks Food Hall by Pusateri’s in Saks Fifth Avenue, Nordstrom, Kate Spade, Williams Sonoma. Pottery Barn, Lacoste, Tiffany’s and so much more. Also, thriving in community events, Etobicoke has Lakeshore Culture Days. Several community-wide events knit together by the objective of raising awareness through arts for indigenous and immigrant cultures.

Etobicoke is great for accessibility to Mississauga and Brampton and even communities further West like Oakville and Hamilton, while staying within the City of Toronto.

Although most locals seem to know that the “Ke” in “Etobicoke” is silent, no one really seems to know why that is, as the original indigenous Mississauga word is “wadoopikaang.” It is likely the result of English and French settler bastardization.
