Much like The Peanut on the other side of Highway 404, Pleasant View is a popular North York community for new Canadians looking for modestly-priced homes. There's a large Chinese population here as well as sizeable Greek, Italian, Persian and Korean communities.
Pleasant View is, well, just plain pleasant. This is a quiet, relatively safe neighbourhood that is very tolerant of different cultures which is why a lot of new Canadians choose to call it home. There’s also a good number of parks and schools in this area and it’s commuter-friendly being so close to both Highway 404 and 401.

Pleasant View's biggest outdoor attraction is Van Horne Park, a 3.6 hectare park near Finch and Victoria Park. Families flock to the multi-purpose sports field, outdoor ice rink in the winter and splash pad and children's playground in the summer.
At the east end of the park is the Pleasant View Community Centre. The Centre offers a range of kids' programming throughout the year including art workshops and camps as well as an outdoor pool and an indoor skating rink.
