Moss Park is largely made up of high-rise Toronto apartments for rent.

There are, however, a few Victorian houses for sale in Toronto Moss Park along Berkley Street as well as a handful of newer Toronto condos, lofts and townhomes just a few streets outside of this neighbourhood's borders in Corktown to the south and Cabbagetown to the north.

The new development townhomes along Bright Street, just slightly south of Moss Park, are priced around $1.2-1.3M, signalling a wave of change coming to this neighbourhood.

It’s tough to say what the future of Moss Park will be in the absence of a major influx of City and private investment like comparable areas have seen – Regent Park and Alexandra Park specifically.

But this isn’t stopping condo developers from jumping on the comparatively affordable land values and constructing some pretty darn nice residential buildings that may help gentrify this gritty neighbourhood.

Its location along Queen Street East, proximity to the Financial District and the boon of Corktown and the Distillery District just south of its borders gives Moss Park’s property values a fighting chance at some decent appreciations.

Toronto Life pegged it as one of their top neighbourhoods to buy into in 2013 and although we think they jumped the gun a bit. But give Moss Park some more time. She may surprise us.

Moss Park is home to Moss Park Arena, one of the few ice hockey arenas in Toronto’s core. They offer both adult and youth hockey, including hockey school and holiday camps for kids, as well as skating.
