The Lambton area surrounding Dundas and Jane has more modest and affordable Toronto homes for sale than the exclusive enclave of Lambton Baby Point to its south, yet it enjoys many of the same features and amenities. Its hilly and leafy streets are in close proximity to the Jane Street shopping district and residents are just a short walk to parks and the picturesque Humber River trails. For west-end buyers looking for a great starter homes for sale in Toronto, Lambton is worth a look.

A River Runs Through It
Okay, so technically the Humber River runs around Lambton. But the effect is lovely either way. There are scenic, paved trails in both Lambton Park and Magwood Park that provide a beautiful setting both for casual strolls and more ambitious fitness routines. The trails also link up to the Martin Goodman Trail along the Toronto waterfront.

Black Creek runs through Smythe Park just to the north of Lambton. It’s a designated wildlife protection area and is great for bird watching and family picnics.

It’s a Hole in One
The Lambton Golf and Country Club is one of Toronto’s oldest golf courses dating back to 1902. It’s a very attractive course backing onto both the Humber River and Black Creek. It recently underwent full-scale renovation for greater playability and broad vistas of the Humber while maintaining some of the more endearing historic features.

Because Affordable and Picturesque Can Coalesce
It’s not often you find single-family homes at these prices on such attractive streets. Typically when we think of up and coming neighbourhoods with low to mid-priced Toronto houses for sale, we picture more industrial or mixed-use streets not fit for descriptions like “storybook” and “tranquil”.

But that’s just it. Lambton isn’t up and coming, per se. It’s already an established neighbourhood just with more modestly outfitted and therefore more modestly priced properties. But the residential streetscapes, particularly those close to the parks and golf course, are winding, hilly and tree-lined; similar to streetscapes in much more affluent Toronto neighbourhoods. Who says affordable can’t be lush?
