The relaxed walkable neighborhoods that make up the East End include Leslieville, Little India, Riverside, Riverdale, Woodbine, Greenwood and Danforth Village. Venturing out east you’ll quickly find couples and young families out on strolls in the afternoon and the evenings. Streets are lined with stalls of fresh produce and cafes that spill out onto sidewalks in the summer months. The Danforth area is the largest Greek community in North America. Accessible via the Danforth GO Station and nine TTC subway stations running between Sherbourne and Kennedy as well as various TTC buses, which make getting around the East End a breeze. Close to delicious Indian food at Gerrard and home to a second Chinatown in Riverdale, the East End doesn’t skimp on Toronto’s characteristic proximity to diversity. And then of course there is The Beach, where sandcastles and water sports abound. Do you really need another reason to live in the East End?

A continuous stretch of land, it is divided into equal stretches of land made up of Balmy Beach, Scarboro Beach, Kew Beach and Woodbine Beach, a quartet that create “The Beaches.” With multiple snack bars and changing areas, this is “the” recreational beach area of Toronto.

The Beaches is known for is large Victorian townhouses and single family homes as well as a few San Francisco-style “painted lady” townhomes.

Degrassi Street in the East End’s Riverside/Riverdale neighborhoods was the filming location for the hit Canadian teen soap opera, Degrassi, which now has a total of five spin offs.
