Overview
Bathurst Manor, often referred to as Bathurst Manor-Clanton Park, is a residential neighbourhood popular with families due to its great schools, parks and community centres as well as proximity to highways for commuter moms and dads.
The area’s roots date back to the early 1800’s when it was a farming hamlet known as Dublin Heights named after Dublin Farm, the original farm settled by Irish immigrant William Duncan.
With its Irish heritage largely gone but not forgotten, Bathurst Manor is a wonderfully diverse neighbourhood today. It has both a large Italian and Jewish population and you’ll see this reflected in the local shops and cultural centres as well as synagogues, catholic churches and schools.

There are more great community centres and recreational facilities in this relatively mid-sized neighbourhood than in most mega ‘hoods in the city.
The Herb Carnegie Centennial Centre, formerly the North York Centennial Centre, has a popular ice rink for hockey and skating that’s also used widely in the summer months when it’s converted to a dry-pad for inline skating, ball hockey and lacrosse.
The Irving W. Chapley Community Centre is great for young families as it has a toddlers’ play area and an outdoor pool and in the winter, an outdoor rink. It also has great workshops and classes for kids, teens and adults ranging from fun programs that work the mind like chess to practical office skills like keyboarding. There are also senior's fitness programs. It’s located beside the Wilmington Park that offers great sporting fields and tennis courts.
The Prosserman Jewish Community Centre is a stellar, state-of-the-art facility featuring a gym with special training facilities for both serious athletes and the casual fitness enthusiast as well as a variety of sports programs including basketball and tennis. There is also a fantastic line-up of learning programs for all ages.
