Families looking for Toronto homes for sale in an area with a small village feel, reminiscent of bygone eras - if you're willing to go just a little further north, you'll find it here.
Overview
Henry Farm is a small, residential enclave north of Highway 401 but what this tiny neighbourhood lacks in footprint it makes up for in charm.
Henry Park is big on community. Buyers looking for houses for sale in Toronto in an area that feels like a small village in the big city will love Henry Farm. Yet for all its small-town feel, it’s just minutes to major arteries in and out of the city and great amenities like Fairview Mall. We dare even the most "North York adverse" not to fall in love with this neighbourhood.
As its name suggests, Henry Farm was once farmland owned by a man named Henry – Henry Mulholland, an Irish immigrant who settled the land in the early 1800’s. The land changed hands over the years but was reacquired by Henry’s great grandson George Henry in the late 1800’s. He then sold it to developers in 1958 at the age of seventy-seven when he was no longer able to care for the land.
George Henry tragically died just days after the transaction at his farmhouse Oriole Lodge which still stands as a private residence. The land was then developed into the quaint residential neighbourhood it is today.
Why We Love Henry Farm
It’s a Cozy Community that Instantly Feels like Home
Beyond the winding streets and charming cul-de-sacs, what makes a neighbourhood feel like a real community is the people. And while there are no guarantees of scoring great neighbours when you a buy a new home, you stand an excellent chance in Henry Farm. This is a community that cares and residents tend to put down roots for life.
The Henry Farm Community Interest Association is very active in supporting residents’ needs to achieve a great family lifestyle. They lobby government on key issues that concern residents and lead the charge on programs and events that bring neighbours together.
Buyers looking for homes for sale in Toronto in an area with a true sense of community will love Henry Farm’s ongoing events; they have everything from an annual neighbourhood movie and dinner night to youth programming and concerts in the park.
